AUCTION SALES OP 1920-21 CLIP. Melbourne, July S. After conferring with woolgrowers and woolbrokers, Mr. W. M. Hughes stated that he had been authorised to inform tho British Government, the woolgrowers. and the public that the auction sales of the 1920-21 clip would be opened in Australia iabont. October 1 next. He subsequently stated that this did not imply that growers would be compelled to submit all their wool for sale in Australia, but were left free to export or sell m Australia. Mr. Hughes is continuing his representahons_ to the. Imperial authorities with' the object of preventing a glut of Australian wool such as would occur if the new season's clip and the carry-over from past clips were placed on the market together.—Press Assn.
