ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL MATCHES. A meeting of the Management Committeo of the New Zealand Rugby Union wa» held last night, Mr. 6. W. Slade presiding. There were also present: Jfctsre. A. 0. Kitto. J. T. M. Pikl, 11. Paton,. T. H. Jones, G. Howe,' R. T. Bailey, S. S. Dean, and 0. H. Pownall. Details' of the North-South match wero arranged. Mr; P. A. Laws, of Wellington, wrote, offering a pair of football boots to the most useful -player in both North and South Island teams, The ofler was accepted, and independent judges were appointed to make the awards. . A challenge for the Rapfurly Shield wai received from Poverty Bay. The disqualifications on 0. Cambell (Otairo) and W. J. Paul (Upper Hutt) wero lifted. Thfl application of W. J. Harridgn (Otago) was incomplete, and was thereforo referred back. The application of J. Douglas was merely received, as the caso has been reviewed before. The Wairarapa Rugby Union advised that they were playing only approved rules. It was decided to play tho South Island country team against Wairarapa at Carterton, instead of' Masterton, and to alter the date from August 4 to August 5. ! A letter frota. Mr. 0. B. Marriott, secretary of the English Union, to Mr. W. W. Hill, the central secretary in Australia, was ■ read, confirming the cablegram sent urging no action to bo taken with regard to playing amended rules. The letter stressed the point that the union desired one universal, code, and that they were awaiting a reply from South Africa.
