Two of the severest earthquakes felt for years in Los Angeles country wore experienced in quick succession. • A number of buildings and tall chimneys collapsed in Inglewood, and people in restaurants and theatres were seized with panic. There were no fatalities, but many peoplo were injured by falling debriß. The damage amounts to hundreds-of thousands l of dollars.;
The earthquake shocks continued today. There were ten altogether in eighteen hours. , Further damage was caused, and the electric railway traffic was stopped.—Reuter.
