THE MILK SHORTAGE
COLD WEATHER AFFECTS SUPPLIES. Consulted' yesterday as to the state of tho milk supplies, which have been very short for a fortnight past, Mr. W. H. Bonnett (chairman of the Milk Committee) said tl:at he was hardly in a position to go into the matter, as the 6uppliors of Featherston .wore to meet the Board of Trade during the afternoon to disouss tho prioe at which it was reasonable to supply the Wellington City Corporation with milk. Until he knows the outcome of that conference, ne would not be ablo to say much, but ho would take the opportunity of making a full statement on tho position at '.he council meeting on Thursday evening. In tho meantime he had been advised that the enortage had been accentuated by tho cold weather whioh; hod been experienced jn tho district u'.'aring tho past fortnight.
