ARRIVAL IN WELLINGTON

ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION : General W. Bramwell Booth, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Salvation Army, arrived by the Moerakj 'yesterday from Sydney, accompanied by his eldest son, Adjutant Bernard, Booth, and Commissioners D. 0. Lamb, J. Lawley, Theodore Kitching, and Staff-Captain Smith. . The General, who. is making a tour of. the world, was welcomed on arrival by Commissioner Hodder and staff, who went out to tho Moeraki in the tender Pelican. ',:■ When the General came ashore he was greeted by a largo crowd of Salvation Army officers, soldiers,. and the general public, and was given a very gratifying reception. Several bands played selections as tho ship came alongside. Speaking from the motor-car which wim awaiting him, the General said ho was very pleased to oo amongst ■■. the crowd_ assembled. He had had a great time 'in Australia, and was looking forward to having qnito as good a time in New Zealand.' , Ho had been anticipating, his visit for some time, but circumstances had prevented him from coming as soon as he had intended. Ho waa well, and looking for a good time in their midst. , ■ He was then driven off amidst tho cheers of the crowd to the Salvation Army Training College m Aro Strectv where he is staying until his departure to-night for Christchurch, where ho will address meetings to-morrow and Friday. He will proceed to Dunedin, where ho i 9 to speak on ■'Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, arid returns to Wellington about the middle of tho week.
