SOLDIER SETTLEMENT
PART OP BRANCEPETH ESTATE ACQUIRED. By Telegraph-Special Correspondent. Mastfirton, May 26. • Seven thousand acres of. the wellknown Brancopeth Estate, situated near Masterton and belonging to Mr. H. H. liccthain, have been acquired by the Government for settlement by a syndicate of returned soldiers. The land acquired is the choicest portion of tho estate and is to be cut ui> into twelve or fourteen sections. Seven of the members of the syndicate are at present employees on the station. Very little reading, etc., will be necessary, and there are seven whares on the place ready for occupation by tho new owners.
