HON. C. J. PARR VISITS STRATFORD

By Telegraph—Press Association. Stratford, May 26. The Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister of Education, visited Stratford to-day and received several deputations dealing with local requirement. The necessity for tv hostel in connection with tho new High School was urged, and ' tiio Minister promised favourable consideration. A deputation asking that instruction in the effects ■, of alcohol on the human body be part of the school curriculum, was Informed that the Minister, while sympathetic, could niako no definite promise until he had met a dominion deputation on the same subject which was expected to approach him shortly. •New Plymouth, May 20. Mr. Parr, in continuation of hie Taranriki tour, reached New Plymouth this afternoon, and is remaining here till Friday morning to deal with local educational requirements.
