DR. JAMESON'S FUNERAL
IMPEESSIVB CEREMONY IN MATOPPO.HILLS. Cape Town, May 21. The interment of Di\ Jameson's remains alongside those of Cecil Rhodes in the Mdtoppo Hills was most striking and impressive. The coffin lay all night in the open, in the glow of a cnmp fire, and guarded by a single sentry. 1 The procession up the mountain was preceded by clergy and a choir. It was a picturesque ceremony, the great gathering at the graveside including 150 chiefs and headsmen. General Smuts paid a tribute to Dr. Jameson's great services to South Africa as one of the founders of the Union.—Aiis.-N.Z. Gable Assn.
