NEW HIGHER APPOINTMENTS.Tne Postmaster-General (Mr. J. G. Coates) announced last night certain promotions in the Post Office consequent on the appointment of Mr. W. E. Morris to be Public Servico Commissioner. . , • ... Mr R. B. Morris has been appointed Secretary to the Post Office at a salary of dSHOO a year, and' Mr. A. T. Markmen first assistant-secretary. ' A change has been mado in the administration by a reversion to the former system of separation of tho postal and telegraphic sides. Tho head of the telegraphic branch is to b» directly responsible to tho Minister. Mr. G. A. Shrimpton, Telegraph Superintendent, is to receive a salary of JCIIOO a year. Shortly Mr. Shrimpton is going Homo in connection with extensive purchases of material.
