THE RAILWAY DISPUTES
CHAIRMAN FOR A.S.R.S. INQUIRY. The appointment of a chairman to preside over the Conciliation Committee to consider the dispute between the A.S.R.S. and the Railway Department, which was the cause of tho recent strike of mem« bens of the organisation, has been now made. Mr. G. B. Bullock. Superintendent in the Dominion for tho New Zealand Shipping Company, has been, offered the position, and ho has consented to act. Tho dato of meeting of the committeo and the procedure are matters which will have to be settled by tlio chairman with the parties to trie dispute. It is probablo that the hearing of the dispute may bo commenced in the course of'a day or two. There is no information yet whether the inquiry will be public or not.
