The annual meeting of tho Feilding branch of tho Farmers' Union passed the following resolution:—"This meeting re. srets that nothing lias been done to relieve the position regarding tho congestion in the freezing chambers, and suggests that the Prime Minister be asked why he has not called tho conferenco (the producers' delegates for which were elected many mouths agol to consider the congestion of meat in London. Copies of tho resolution aie to bo s&nt to Mr. Massey (Prime Ministw), Mr, D. It. Guthrie (Minister of Agriculture) Mr. J. A. Nash, ■ M.P.,. and Mr. 15. .Newman, Tho .following remit for tho provincial conference was. passed:—"That tho conference urge on' the Government tho newl of removing tho duty on imported timbor, and that tho railway rato !bo thq samr for local and imported timber.
