A deputation of jockeys subsequently waited 011 Mr. Massey, who said that he would do his utmost to nssist the men to obtain their rights. We are taking this course 011 tho following grounds: Firstly, we were assured when we joined that there would be no affiliation witli any other body of workers. We ( wore also given a promise by tho secretary that we would only be known as an association and not as a union. We therefore resent tho failure to carry ov those promises, and beg to resign."
