EMPIRE AND THE VATICAN
In the Houso of Commons recently, Mr. Cecil Ilarmsworth roplied to questions about the British Mission to the Vatican. Ho save an assurance, on high legal authority, that the establishment of the Mission was not contrary to the Ant of Settlement or to the Coronation Oath of tlie Sovereign. ITo was satisfied, ton, that the Mission had been fully justified by its services to this cnuiltyy. The Government, however, had thought it right to consult the opinion of the Dominions, and their ropVcs. which had been received at the Colonial Office, would be carefully considered in forming the judgment which would I*. announced when the House reassembled.
