TAX ON EXPORTS TO U.S.A. SUGGESTED. - By Tcleerßoh—PrcM Association i . Naoier, March 3. At a meeting of the Jfawke's Bay Tannery Company this morning, it was decided to request the Prime Minister to look moro closely into the question of making an export duty on hides, with the viow of protecting local industries and keening the price of leather down. A tux of 4d. to Gd, on nil lr'des exported to the United States is suggested.
