THE CANTON MISSION

The minutes of the Canton (New Zealand Presbvterinn) Mission Council for November and December meetings were received with covering letters by Rev. \V. E. W. Kirk and Paterson; the inadvisahilitv of Dr. Kirk leaving on furlough to New Zealand liefore June this year, nnd tho recommendation that Mr. A. G. Wilson leave in February to assist with the emergency campaign; the registration of the Kong Clmen Hospital Nurses' Trainins School wiili the Nurses' Association of China, with n curriculum and graduation diploma uniform with the best nursing schools in other parts of China; the' decision to suspend all building: operations with the execution of covering the unfinished, part of tho hospital as a protection from the weather, to cost about SfKldol.:. the cutting out of nil new expenditure, and the reduction of former expenditure bvnt least 10 per cent.; an hppetil that the .current year's field grant bo made up to IG.O-iodol. from tho grant of ,03000. which will produce te=s than 13.000 dol. It was resolved to defer consideration of the appeal for a larger hold grant until next meeting, and to approve »f the recommendations regarding the furloughs of M : ?s M'Ewan, Dr. John Kirk. and.Mr. Wilson.
