AEROPLANE FLIGHTS
FIRST r AIR MAIL-TO THAMES. By TeleEraDh—Press Association Thames, February 17. An aeroplane arrived at Thames from 'Auckland, carrying the first air mail received here, shortly after midday to-day. Later members of the Harbour Board and the pilot inspected; the wharf with n, view to erecting a permanent landing stage. AN EXHIBITION TOUE. By Telegraph-Press Association Ashburtan, February 17. Captain Euan Dickson, with two passengers, Mr. K. H. Hewlett and Miss Hewlett, in. the Canterbury Aviation Company's Avro passenger-carrying machine, arrived at Ashbnrton early this morning on the first stago of an exhibition tour to InvercaTgill. The journey from Sockbnrn occupied 3G minutes for the 50 miles. About 30 passengers have already booked for flights this afternon.
