REPATRIATION COMMITTEES
♦ PROTEST AGAINST ABOLITION. By Telegraph—Presa A»Bociation. New Plymouth, February 3. The local Repatriation Committee discussed the proposal of tho Otago Board for tho reduction or abolition of repatria' tion. committees, and this the New Plymouth committee disapproved, passing the following motion, which is to he convoved to tho Government:—"That this committee is of opinion that the time if not oDDortuno for the abolition or reduction of renatriation committees; on the contrary, it feels that the scope of the committees' work could be enlarged, with advantacH to the. returned soldiers and benefit to tho country, in tho direction •of expediting the housing and land settlement of cx-soldiers, also of helping in the review and consideration of pensions."
