ENTRIES CLOSE ON,. MONDAY. The Mastcrton A. and P. As-soci.ition's annual show will ho held on February 17 and 18, and prospeeiivo exhibitors ore reminded that entries uitl close on day, February 2, at 9 p.m.. though kite entries will bo received up till Saturday, February 7, on the .payment of Is. per entry late fee. The prize money for the- show has been increased from /-m Us. to .£llß2 65., as compared (villi hist year. If trophies and ciush prizes count for anything, then the display of jiuretired cuttle at the -show this year sliould be a record one- Tn the purebred Shorthorn classes <O>G is given in prizes, in the grade Shorthorns ~30, in purebred Herefords oElifi, in purebred Jerseys ,_G(i, in purebred Friesians MO. in milking Shorthorns (a now class) ,£OO, in dairy cnltlo -CMS, and in fat cattle .£B6 10s. in addition to cash prizes, there are about lifty trophies tind special prizes to bo awardid in the cattle classes. In haelcs and Ihorouglibi'cd horses nearly ,£2OO is given in cash prizes, as well ns about twenty Irophies and special prizes. The trophies to be awarded for the show ring :ompetitions include a rose bowl valued it .1-25. Valuable pri/.es aro also allotted in the draught horse classes and in the :.radcs display section of (he show. The dieep portions of the exhibition aro pariculnrly well catered for, and there is i splendid array of trophies for coiupe:iti.on, as well as -iwirly ,£3OO in cash.
