The stud Tains, of which 8:1 were offered, were perhaps the finest line ever submittd bv. public auction in Australasia. Competition for these was animated throughout, and the rams were distributed anion? well-known breeders from Auckland to fnvei-cargill. The top price was ,'ltfl -guineas for a Goldreef ram, purchased by Jlr. Eglinton (AVairarapa), followed bv 310 guineas for a Burly ram Purchased by Mr. E. E. Short. A five-year-old ram brought 3 guineas, which must bo nil Australasian record for a ram ofqlhis age. Tho 58 two-tooth ranis .'ivoraeed .C 7.5 10s.. and* the i! 0 mixed aged rams averaged ,£fiO 7s. The 15 loppriced rams averaged .tIGB. The ewe lambs realised 1\ : to ail guineas, and ram lambs _ to 53gns. .
