The Christchurch Tramway-Hoard has taken the ■usual etel> s to cite the Christchurch Tramway Emptojeai Union before the Conciliation Council, to discuss the board's proposal regarding wages and hours, but no date nils ocui fixed for the hearing of the dispute. Efforts .are being made st-mo 1,;,t fore it reaches the Conciliation Coun oil. Each party is now associated with a Dominion organisation. Hie lioaia, however, wishes the Christchurch cases to bo settled separately. Although the union declined i 0 meet the board in coherence .last month, on the grounds that,the union is bound to the Tramway Employees' l'eder.nun, aim cannot act without its consent, it is understood that the board s* propolis, if acccptable to the union, will be submitted to the federation lor approval
