WOMAN SEVERELY BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association Auckland, December 2S. A married woman, Mrs. Catherine Benjamin, of Rocky Nook, was admitted to the hospital to-day in. a serious condition. Mrs. Benjamin was carrying a candle early this morning, when her nightgown caught alight, and she was very severely burned about tho body. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. Gisborne, December 28. At an inquest concerning the death of Moana Hemi Totoro, as a result of a motorcar accident at Kaiti beach, 011 Boxing Day, the evidence showed that the car. when travelling at about fourteen miles an hour, skidded in turning a corner. A wheel came off, and the car was capsized. Totoro was found ■ underneath the car. A verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attachable to tho driver of the car. FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Auckland, December 27. A. passenger train at 1f1.!5 on "U ednesday night.ran over and killed Charles do Thierry, aged 20, a resident of Rangiriri. Deceased presumably had been trespassing on the line.
