BILLIARDS

The semi-finals in t.ho Alcock interclub championship, played Inst (right, were of an interesting nature. Stone, of Petone. find Tucker, of the Federal Club, were the first at the table. From the commencement of the game Tucker had all the best of matters. He played with care, and was also favoured with a nico run of tho balls. He passed the first hundred with a break of 117, making him 121, whilst his opponent had only scored 37 in all. The balls, would not run well for Stone, who, perhaps, too, was just ft little out of touch, ami so Tucker was able to reach the 200 mark when Stone wits only 103. At 250 Tucker led his opponent by just under 100. Still Stone played gamely, and with just an element of good fortune might easily have drawn himself into a more favourable position. Tucker was, however, playing too well, and from now on tho issue ■ never seemed in donbt. Tho final scores were: Tucker 300, Stone 182. Tucker's best breaks were 29, 28. 37 22, 30.

The next game was between Key, of tho Wellington Working Men's Club, and Brice, of the I'etono Working Men's Club, At the commencement matters went rather well for the local player, and ho was the first to pass the 100 mark, being 11 in the lead, Key was also the first to arrive at the second hundred, being then, however, only six points ahead, Actually the lead was changing at every cue. The third hundred, particularly towards the end, went very well indeed for Key, and he was able to score a win. by nearly 50 points. Tho best breaks in this game wore: lioy 23, Brico 39 and 21.

The final of 500 points between Tucker and Key will continence to-night at 7.30.
