Marnier, sitting member and Keform candidate for Marsden, addressing the electors here last night, expounded Hip Masscy platform seriatim. Ho expressed his adherence to the same in toto, and deck red his approval of a National .Government composed of tho two chief parties whose policies were similar in , all main essentials. Such fusion would be in the best interests of tho country and would obviate domination of separate larger parties by an extremist minority. • ROSKILL. Auckland, November 13. Mr. V. 11. Potter, the official Government candidate for Eoskill. received an enthusiastic reception from about ono thousand people to-night, who carried (i voto of confidence in Mr. Potter almost unanimously. Mr. Potter is a returned soldier and opposes Mr. J. H. Gunson, Mayor of Auckland. WAIICATO. Hamilton, November 13. Major Luxford denies that he will be a candidate for the Waikato seat. HA WICK'S BAY. Hastings, November 13. -Mr. H. M. Campbell addressed a largo meeting at Hastings last night. Ho said soldiers miist be placed on the land. Ho favoured frochnld leuuro and leasehold with r.o.p. in the case of settlers unablo to pay for tho freehold. He favoured investment of capital in the bnckblocks with security to tenure for twenty years; also workers' dwellings, reading backblocks, hydro-electric power for all the North Island, increased salaries for toaeliers, tho drafting of secondary and technical students into employments for which they are most suited, and drastic dealing with profiteers. Mr. Campbell said ho would only attach himself to a party that stood on his lines, preferably his old friends if they stood for his princiules.

Smith, M.I-'., addressed a largo mooting at Now Plymouth to-night, being acco.-lwl a very good hearing H'; announced his intention of conti.uing as an Independent Labourite. Ho would give general support to a Weird Government if tho latter wore returned to power, as ho anticipated, but reeorved tho right bo opposo it on matters that were against his judgment Ho believed 'in a labour Party, but it inust bo 6ane and moderate Labour. He had Tic sympathy with the present Parliamentary Labour Party, who were revolutionary Socialists and direct actionists, wlcso extreme views wero really inimical to the great body of Labour, and destroyed for the present any chance- of the Labour Party gaining success at the polls. Mr. Smith. was given a unanimous vote of 1 hanks and confidence. CHALMERS. Dunedin, November 13. Mr. Colquhoun, Liberal candidate lor Chalmers, spoke at Port Chalmers tonight regarding railway construction. He urged concentration on fewer lines, so as to make them reproductive. Uβ urged tho Government to control the ferry service, advocated tho harnessing of water power lor electric purposes, contended that main roads should be maintained by the Government, argued that tho Government had a right to take over sufficient necessaries of life to_ ensure a supply at more reasonable prices, Ho said that owing to the cost of building materials only the Stato could undertake big housing schemes. He claimed that the pensions to disabled meu v.ert inadequate, and stated that the British Nnyy must bo supported, and it was unlikely that expenditure would bo kept down. He favoured tho Territorial system with modifications. A motion expressing the opinion that tho candidate was a iit and, proper person to represent Chalmers was carried. . CLUTHA. Dunedin, November 13. Mr John Christie a member of the Cluth'a County Council, announces his candidature lor the Clutha seat in the Independent Liberal and Labour interests. Dr. Newman invitee the ladies and gentlemen who aro willing-to help in law campaign to meet him at his committee room on Monday evening to form working committee*. Dr. A. K. lawnian will hold a meeting at tlio Oriental Bay Kiosk on Tuesday next, when ho will address the electors. Mr. H. A. Wright, a candidate for tho Wellington Subuibs electorate, will open his campaign next Monday evening at 8 o'clock. The meeting will bo held in the Methodist Schoolroom, Karon, and two Mayor will preside. Mr. \V. H. Field, Reform candidate for tho Otaki scat, will address tho electors at Ohau on Monday at 8 p.m. Mr. A. W. Croskery, Labour candidate for the Suburbs seat, will address tho electors in the Church Hall Kaiwarra. to-night. An open-air meeting ■will be held at Ghuzneo Street to-night and to-morrow night at 8 o'clock. Supporters of the official Labour candidate (Mr. Pritchard) held a meeting at the Eanfurly Hall, Petone, last night. A strong committee was formed,' and arrangements made for a systematic canvass of tho district.
