<> SATURDAY'S COMPETITIONS AT TRENI'HAM PETONE CLUB. At Trentham on Saturday afternoon tho Petono Club continued their weekly cnm|)otitions. There was a lair attemianco of members, the most noticablo buing ,1. Carlcr, who shot very etendily and gained the premier position, winuiue tlie spoon competition. This being his first appearance, for a considerable time, his performance is a particularly commendable one. Tho others lo gain prizes wero F. lieichel and T. Wavburton. Tho Suburbs Defence, Club opened the first shoot in the first series in very triekv weather. Trenthnm was in one of its playful moods, nnd tho result was somo very poor scores. The series consists of four shoots, ihe three highest tn count. The club is divided into two classes. A and B. The top score of the oav was made by V. Ross, a son of the veteran Caplain J. Ross. The club's ehamnionship will not start until the first Saturday in December. It will consist of three series of four shoots, two choots to be dropped.
