HEMP AND TOW GRADED
A return showing the Quantities of hemp, tow, and stripper-slips graced at the ports of the Dominion during October, Las been supplied by, tho Department of Agriculture. Hemn.—The total number of bales graded was 8534, as compared with 12,001 for tho corresponding period last year, a decrease of 43G7 bales. For the twelve months ended October !!1 the number of bales graded was 90,530, as compared with 16:1.920 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 67,390 bales. Tow.-The total number of bales grafted was 2324. as compared with 1362 for the same month last year, an increase of 1102 bales. For the twelve months ended October 31 the number of bales graded was 16.817, as compared with 31.036 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 14.810 bales. Stripper Slips.-Octoher. 1519, nil; October. 1918 137 bales. For twelve months ended October 31 152 bales, as compared with ISSfi for the previous twelve months, a decrease of MM bales.
