ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DEATH ON MOERAKT. John Cullen, aged 53 years, a. resident of Goulburn, New South Wales, and a baker by occupation, was found dead in his bunk on the Moeraki at. S a.m. on Sunday, whilst the vessel was on hur voyage from Sydney to Wellington. Ho was last seen alive at: 3.30 a.m., when he appeared to be in normal health. Auckland, November 4. .Percy Albert Mercer, a returned soldier, died in the hospital annexe from poisoning, evidently by a virulent disinfectant. Ho had been suffering from in. sonvnia and shell-shock.
