CRICKET
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. The Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met last evening. Mr. (.'. G. Wilson presided. It. was decided to ask all clubs to send in their colours for registration. The North Club was granted permission to enter a learn in the junior B grade.
A letter was received from the Town Clerk notifying the association that the use of the Basin Reserve had been granted for the holding of a military tournament on November 20. The meeting decided to send a strong protest to the council against the use of the Basin Reserve for a military tournament, and in moving the motion'the chairman pointed out that: it seemed absurd for the council to have the ground cut up by a tournament of the sort, after all the money that hao: been spent in improving it. He suggested that the tournament couul easily be "held on Newtown Park.
The Centics Club protested against the decision of an umpire drawing the stumps in the. Centics-.lohnsonville third-class match. It was decided to ask the Johnsnnville Club for an explanation. A letter was received from tho Auckland Association suggesting January 20, 30. and 111 for the match with Wellington at Auckland. The Wellington Association suggest February 27, 28, and March 1. The letter was heltf over till a reply was received from the Cliristchurch Associaiion.
Letters were received from various junior clubs suggesting that the association should send a junior representative team on tour during the Christinas anil New Year holidays, the association to pay all the expenses incurred. The meeting decided to reply to the clubs in question that they could not see their wav clear to utilise the .funds of the associ'ition in financing a junior (our. FIXTURES.
