VOGELTOWN & MORNINGTON
MUNICIPAL ELECTORS' ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of tho Vogeltown and Mornington Municipal Electors' Association was held on "Wednesday'night. Mr. 6. D. Hewett v/as in the chair. The report stated that the work of the committee had been somewhat hampored owing to the unsettled conditions brought about by tho war. It was hoped, however, that the country's affairs would soon be more settled and progress on nound lines assured. It was pleasing to note that tho Government and City Council had at last recognised the claims of the district! as ft residential suburb. It was understood that dwellings for tho people were to he erected in the district in tho near future. The one drawback to that scheme, however, ww the apalihv of the council in not pushing on with the long-promised'tramway extension beyond John Street. This promise, it was stated, should be fulfilled and a longstanding grievance removed. Tho opening up of the new road wtys proceeding slowly. Tho thanks of the association were given to the Press, the South Wcllim-ton Lund Company, and the City Council. Tho report and balance-sheet wore adopted. .
