INCREASE OF EXPENSES OVER REVENUE. ■ , The return for the four weeks ended October 13 of the city tramways presented to the Finance Committee of the City Council shows Unit in that period, compared with the corresponding 0110 of last year, the revenue has increased by .£5437, whilst the working expenses, have beaten Hint increase by X 33, whicii appears to indicate in the plainest possible way that the recent increase in fares is nor going to benefit the city to any extent unless it is to act as a brake on losses which were imminent when the chango was made.
