Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report holding their hide and tallow sale Inst Thursday. Under the new refutations gazetted, tanners haTe tho right to select all the calfskins and 50 per cent, of all grader, of hide 6. We offered a Tory large cataloguo to tho buyers, full advantage of the new regulations being taken by the tanners, who took most of the hides and all calfskins submitted except a few slippy, the latter realising 6|d. above the seihedule rate for beet calf. Quotations :-Hcavy ox, 121 d. to 19d.; medium ox, Hid. to 18{d.; 'light ox, 10Jd. to 21H.; medium cows, 10-} d: to 21Jd.; light cows, 10Jd. to 22Jd.;. light heifers, 20d. t0,24d.; cut, slippy and, inferior,, 16d. to 18d.; yearlings, lid. to 32} d-; caH. Uto 161b., lljd. to S3Jd.; best calf, 101b. and under, all taken by the tanners; calf, slippy,,3ofd.; horse hides, 12s. 6d. ,to 305.; tallow, in casks, 58s. to 60s. per cwt.; tallow, in tins, 555. por cwt.; horse hair, 18Jd. per lb.
