MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Mayor (Mr. S. Stone) presided over the fortnightly meeting of tho Miramar Borough Cojincil hold last evening, and there were present Councilors H. K. Robertiihaw, E. Collie, B. F. ; Gardiner, J. Hicks, E. J. Barnett, and Mrs. M'Yicais
The Wanganui Borough. Council forwarded a resolution passed by that body protesting against the proposal to reinstate Professor von ZodlitK as Professor of Modern Languages at Victoria College oil. the ground that the appointment of tiu' unnaturalised German to an educational position would be an insult to oiir soldiers,'and that every possible step should be' taken to keep such positions for men ; of British . birth.' The letter whs received.
Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., wrote, promising to give his support to the Definition of Time Bill, which had in the received his cordial support.
The Worser Bay School Comniittco wrote, urging, tho council to push on with the boring operations for water on the Seatoun side of the school grounds, and: the council instructed the engineer to prepare a report on the matter.
' The engineer reported that sixteen buildine permits of n value of 4J3525 had been granted, making a total of thirtyfour permits of the value of X 13.323 for the half-tear. : '
