LORD JELLICOE'S REPORT
PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE SUGGESTED. The Eon. A. M. Myers (Auckland East) asked in the House of Representatives last night if,- in view of tihe importance of Lord .Tellicoo's report, tho Government would set up a Parliamentary committee, consisting of an equal number of members from each side of the House, and refer tho report to it for consideration. This committee could then obtain full information, and the result of its deliberations could be reported to the House. Mr. Mnssey said that if the session were just commencing. instead of bcinß near il« end. 'he would he glad to give effect to the suggestion. It would not be possible to give a committee any of the information contained in the confidential portion of the report. Mr. Myers: a non-party ouestion.
Mr. Massv"' t is n confidential matter as far as the Emnire is concerned, and when confidential information is placed in my hands I consider it a matter of honour that it does not go out. I don't Bee that it if possible to do anything this session in tho direction suggested.
