WHAKATANE LOAN POLL
PROPOSALS CARMED. It .TeleKraDh-Presß Association. Whakatano, October 6. Whakatane county ratepayers on Saturday carried loan proposals totalling .£60,000 for road construction and plant, covering practically the whole of tho county. . The proposals were submitted in two. portions—namely, the Taneatua and Nukuhou. portion, representing the oldest-settled portion ,of . the district, •AKMOO; and Raingitaiki area, >£49,000. Both were carried .with the . necessary three-fifths majority, as, follow; Tanoautua, 188 votes to'9s; Raiigitaiki, 260 votea to. 29. It was raining on the polling day, and only about half the ratepayers voted.
