In connection with the Government campaign of retrenchment, Mr. Lloyd George has already received Departmental reports which are disappointing, tho total savings involved by the ■ re-, duction of. stafts not reaching, fifteen millions annually. The heads of Departments are resisting the Treasury pressure, and shielding tho highly-paid officers. Wholesale dismissals are expect-ed.-"The Times."
