LYALL BAY MATTERS

A meeting was held at Lyall, Bay on Thursday night which was attended by a vory largo number of local 1 residents, llio object being to resuscitate tho local. Municipal Electors' Association. Tho electors present introduced a considerable number of subjects concerning the welfaro of the. residents of the distyict, and after the constitution of the association was read, about fifty new members joined up to tho existing association, under the title of Lyall Bay and Maranui Municipal Electors' Association. Tlie following officers were appointed:—President, Mr. P. J. Evans;'vice-presidents, Messrs. J. If. Ryder, T. M. Donovan, J. R. Stansell. W. 11. Morrah, A. C. .Blake, J; Rod, T.. H. .funis; committee, Messrs. P. Whitehead, G. J. Ryan, T. H. Porter, J. ,-Leuchars, F. C. Palethorpe, W. H. Gemluel, H. Death, J. Nichol, G. Gambrill; hon. secretary, Mr. R. L. Jones. Points concerning the tramways, beach, street lighting, and milk matters wero j discussed among other things, and subcommittees were appointed to deal with theso matters and report at the next nice,ting. Indications point to a very active propaganda being carried on by this association, and the membership is expected to I' number some hundreds for the next meeting.
