At'the monthly meeting of the Hos pital and Charitablo Aid Board, the social Welfare Committoe submitted the following report to the bonxd:— "That a notification having been ceived . from the Department. of Public Health that the amounts of certau "rants made by the committee and claimId for from the Department were -in ex cess of the .limit authorised inasmuch ai the amount of the ordinary widows .pensions had not been deducted fromi th< maximum sum mentioned by the Miiuster viz., 255. for tho widow and 10s. 6d each for the children as was w-tended the committee waited upon .the Hon. tn< Minister 'for Public Health.
