COLLEGE GOVERNORS
The Board of Governors of, the Wellington College and the Girls' High School held its monthly meeting yesterday morning. Mr. AV. F. Ward presided, and others present wero Sir E. 0. Gibbes, Messrs. W. H. P. Barber, W. Allfj 1 !, Forsyth, W. H, Field, and Professor Easterfield. The financial statement presented stated that tho credit balance at the bank was J38G2,85. 9d. Payments required totalled 4MU 19s. lid. Outstanding fees in connection with the Wellington College were set down at ,£2163 18s. 8d: and tho Girls' College 41GG8 3s. Bd., which, with rents outstanding (J6146 ISs, 3d.), total/led 48979 Os. 7d. ' On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to remit the tuition fees of . the holder of tho James Mackay bursary so long as the amount of .the bursary precludes him from holding a free jjlace. There was again 1 some discussion on tlio. question of the making of holidays in secondary and primary schools simultaneous as far as possible. It was decided to see if a conference could be arranged between tho headmaster and the principals of the colleges to endeavour to arrive at an arrangement on the question.
