SOUTH AFRICAN PARTY CONGRESS

REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN CONDEMNED. (Rcc. August 24, 5.5 p.m.) Cape Town, August 22. The South African Party in Congress passed a resolution that the matter of reunion be left in the hands of the leaders, on condition that it be based on the vindication of the European races. A resolution was also passed' strongly condemning the republican propaganda, as tending to civil war and the violation of the word of honour given at the Verecniging Conference. Congress decided to comlxit this propaganda and stand hy the Act of Uni<u. [The Vereeniging Conference was the closing act of the South African War.]
