BATHS FOR THORN DON

At last evening's meeting of tho City Council, the oft-raised Question of baths for Thorndon, to replace the old ones soon to be scrapped, camc before the council in a now form. Councillors \V. .11. liennett and M. P. Luokie coinmendcd to the council's notice the section at ilitf corner of Tinakori Road and Park btreet, formerly used by the Thorndon Romans Club. Councillor Bennett thought the section was a. most admirable one for baths for Thorndon; and pointed out that the water from the Grant Road spring, a large uuaniity of which was going to waste"summer and winter, coui.d be used' to feed the baths. Councillor Luckie said that tile matter of securing a site for bath« was under the consideration of the Finance Committee, and the section was very well, suited for such, a purpose. Tho Mayor said that the Finance Committee was going to visit Thorndon shortly, and they \ymld have a look at Iho section mentioned. Sooner or later tho matter of providing baths for Thorndon would havo to bo faced, and they would go into tho matter later.
