MISSING PRISONER RECAPTURED

On Saturday evening Constable Fleming recaptured tho prisoner, Darcy Robert M'Devitt, who escaped from custody on April 1 last, while being escorted to Wellington. While tho constable was placing a bag on tho rack in the.carnage the prisoner bolted, and was not seen again for tlireo months. On July 30 Coiistablo Fleming located accused at a sawmill at Taroto in tho Oliura district, but before his identity was proved M'Devitt bolted again. The rapture was made in a wharo, near Tokirinm. Accused was remanded on a charge of breaking and entering and stealing Xl2o worth of musical instruments from Oscar Brown's shop in Wellington. Accused pleaded guilty to escaping from custody, and was remanded for sentence.
