SUICIDE BY DROWNING

TRAGEDY ON THE WATERFRONT. Yesterday afternoon tho Coroner,•Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., held an inquest on Quisippe Benzonni, who was found drowned in the harbour in the vicinity of the Taranaki Street Wharf, at about noon on Tnesday. ■ Sergeant Lopdell, of the Taranaki Street Police Station, conducted the inquiry. Charlie Millia said he had fcnown the deceased for the past five years. Deceased had been discharged from a abjp in Australia suffering from Uio influenza. Witness then called the night watchman, and a ropo was thrown to tho deceased. Witness wont to get a torch and when ho returned the night watchman said that the doceased had gono down. Near the scone of the drowning witness found a coat, vest, and a hat, and inside the .coat was a blood-stained razor. Thomas Miller, painter, Hopper Street, said that tho deceased had resided with him on Monday night. He said to witness, "Don't lock the side dour.
