INDICTMENT MODIFIED COMPROMISE WITH PRESIDENT WILSON. London, July 7. As an eleventh hour compromise with President Wilson, the indictment of tho ex-Kaiser will be limited to charges connected with tho violation of Belgium and Luxemburg, so as to avoid a capital sen■tence. It will exclude serious crimes. As in other cases, Franco is becoming cooler. America never desired that, the ex-Kniscr should bo prosecuted. Somo of the leading papers are discontented with the indictment as insufficiently comprehensive, and others comjilain that it will make William a martyr, and create a "Ilohonzollero Legend." —Aus.-N.Z. Some consider that Mr. Lloyd' George is merely bidding for popularity, 'ihe newspapers generally question the possibility of a, fair trial.
