EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME. When the British Association for (he Advancement of Science meets in Septunljev at Bournemouth, some changes will bo noticeable in the arrangements as compared with those of past meetings. Thus whereas in pre-war years such a meeting occupied eight days, this year the timo will be limited to five, and there will bo a corresponding curtailment of social festivities. On the 10th educational authorities have promised to iitiend a symposium on "The, Method and Substance of Science Teaching," and the two reports of Sir Joseph Thomson's and Sir Richard Gregory's Committees are counted upon to inspire an interesting tieba'c. Later on in the day the Education and Economics Sections will hold a joint ■sitting on th" subject of "Education in lidation to Business."
