TO PROTECT THE GIRLS

"Still achieving, etill pursuing" is tiio latest report from llio Y.W.C.A. £15,000 Campaign Committee. Given tile hearty, morn], and linaneial support of the people of Wellington and district, the objective will bo attained. But the thousands have not yet been gathered in, tntl this despite tlio fact that the money is to bo expended for tho benefit of the Kirla and young women of the present and future generations. The committee urge that no nobler aim can be attained than tho provision of means that will enable the Y.W.C.A. to make tho lives of city girls brighter, happier, and safer. The Y.W.C.A. is the only institution which makes the Hfo and work of the girls its special and exclusive concent, and money, and still more money is reciuired, and the public aro again appealed to give freely and generously to tho laudable object in view.

An urgent notice appears in our advertising columns in connection with the Trentham Scholarships Art Union. It appears that a. number of books of tickets were sent out to farmers and others on Approval. In ;i great many cases no reply has been received to this appeal, and it is desired that remittances would be sent to the secretary without delay, or- the' tickets returned. Those who have hehl tickets for sale are alsft requested to forward cash, butt: l !, anff. unsold tickets without delay. There -is (in enormous amount of «ork involved in preparing for the drawing of the art union, and unless ticket-holders respond promptly to this request a i;reat deal of work and considerable expense will bo involved in correspondence. It is hoped that thoso concerned will take full advantage of this Jast opportunity to contribute to a splendid cause, and incidentally to participate in the prizes.

Woods' Great Peppermint Cure, For Coughe and Colds, never fails.—Advt.
