ANGLICAN SYNOD
CONCLUSION OF SESSION,
Tho Diocesan Synod continued its sittings yesterday, the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. I'. 11. Sprott) presiding. The Ven. Archdeacon H. Eeeve moved:—"That in order to carry out the recommendation of General Synod that the dioceses of Auckland and Wellington appoint members of a joint committee to act as an executive committee in tho promotion of tho new diocese of Taranaki, the election of the Taranaki Bishopric Fund General Committee (which took place at tho representative conference held at New Plymouth in November, 1917) bo hereby approved and confirmed bo far as concerns tho Wellington portion of tho proposed new dioceso; and that subject to the npprovnl of the Auckland Diocesan Synod tho whole of the said committee bo hereby constituted the executive committee of tho Taranaki Bishopric Fund." ' The motion was carried.
In view of the King's Proclamation commanding general thanksgiving services throughout the Empire on Sunday, July 6, tho synod passed some urgent financial appropriations in committee, and decided to close the eeesion in order that ministers might reach their respective parishes in time to prepare for tho ecrvicM on Sunday.
