Gore, president of tho New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, stated at tho gathering of farewell to Mr. Guy Smythe last evening that at tho end ot tho year there would be held in Wellington the first New' Zealand, championship meeting since the of war.-, Tho Wellington College ground had been kindly lent by Mr. firth for the occasion. That tournament, which would commence on Boxing Day, would in all probability attract :i record gathering of tennis players and of the public, and it was hoped that Mr. Smytho would pay Wellington a visit oil that occasion, not only to sliow that lie still retained his forin, but for old acquaintance sake.
