MILKING SHORTHORN ASSOCIATION
(By Telegraph.-Special Reporter.) Palmerston North, June 19. At aTnoeting of, the Council of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association to-day a sum of £25 was voted towards the Breeders' Club. Reports from Canterbury district showed that increased interest was being takenin milking Shorthorns, and with a view to stiaiulating the efforts of the Canterbury executive it was resolved to voto six guineas each to three A. nnd P. Associations for milking Shorthorn classes. Tho allocation of "specials'; for* shows was held over till the next meeting. Twenty guineas was allowed for semi-official tests lor the year. The Agricultural Department was recommended to grant soeond-class certificates for cows that had reached the standard, but failed to cnlve within tho regulation period. It was decided to apply for a brand to bo registered for the branding of all ani : mals passed for future volumes of the Herd Book. Volume 3 was reported as in the printers' hands, and would be ready for issue shortly.
