Sir,—Reading the account in your issue of Wednesday brought to my mind an easy possibility of avoiding similar Occidents. Some seventy years ago I was a pupil at the London University College School, and I well remember that .there was a banister down which the boys used to elide, but on an accident occurring through this, the authorities caused knobs about a foot anart to be placed on the banister, which, of course,_ pre.
