TRAMWAY MANAGEMENT

Sir,—ln reply to "Fast Service," I /lid not overlook the difficulty that he points out. By fiu alteration of the time-table this oDulcl lje avoided. Then there is -the Jisrvois Quay route, which could be available for n fast service. My contention v.'jis also directed to cars for town in the mornings. The traffic authorities should know when there is a'possibility of loadin,? a car for town, snv, at Lyall Bay, or Island Buy, or Knrori for that matter. Xow, a fast car for town leaving any of these outlying districts in time to allow people to reach their several places of business in good time, and cutting out n. number of stopping-places, would soon be well patronised, and also save time for both the tramway authorities and the travelling public. These arrangements could be applied wherever the trams run to. If a full load of people are available from the terminus to town, why not run them right into town? There could be a slow or stopping car picking up intermediate traffic. Anything that win cut out a lot of the inconvenience that is_ nt present the rule should be given a trial. I am confident that if given a fair trial.with competent management, it would soon c-ome to be appreciated by the public.—l am, etc..' THOS. M. -MILLIGAN. June 11, 1910.
