BRIGHT PROSPECTS AHEAD. (By .Telegraph-Special Correspondent. Wanganui, Juno 7. The harbour development scheme, which was suspended during the war period, is now being actively resumed. Last night tho board adopted a recommendation, from its Works Conirnitleo to make au offer of .£IO,OOO for an ocean-going tug boat, built to tho Admiralty* order at Hong-Kong, but not now required for the Navy. Electric cranes are likely to bo installed on the town wharf, ami tho board has decided to inake addwpns to tho slip at a cost of Mm. m that krger vessels can be overhauled and repaired. The dredge is on its way out from Home, thouffn its whereabouts is shrouded in mystery. As soon as 'it arrives the construction of the hi" basin for ocean liners irill ba undo taken, and tho big enterprise- scheme will bo actively carried to a stage ot completion. The future prospects of the port are considered to bo vary bnjht indeed. .„
